Re: Updating Microsoft OneDrive operating under a legacy system on my MacBook Pro

I received a notice that my Microsoft OneDrive is operating under a legacy system. What role does Microsoft OneDrive have on my MacBook Pro?

Without the updated Microsoft OneDrive that is compatible with macOS Monterey 12.3 or later how would this affect my use of Microsoft office for mac (emails, word, excel, publisher, notes) or does it affect something else?

Is it easy to download the update for Microsoft OneDrive? Is there a charge for the update.

Do I also need this update for my Iphone? I very seldom use my MacBook Air will it also need microsoft OneDrive addressed?

OneDrive is Microsoft's equivalent of iCloud Drive. It's free to download. However, it does not come on a Mac, somebody installed it.

You don't need it to have local operation of MS Office. Some versions of Office do work interactively with OneDrive and the cloud, but it's not required even then. If you don't want it, uninstall it.

I've used both, we all have our favorites, but for me Apple's native iCloud Drive is superior to OneDrive.

You don't need it for successful operation of any Apple device. Under certain circumstances you may prefer it for some reason, but all Apple devices are complete without it.
