Doesn't matter. I've made iPhone/iPad backups to my Mac at the request of my wife and my parents who use a different Apple ID. The only requirement is that the computer is trusted by the device. Once it's trusted it's easy to perform a backup using Finder on a newer Mac or iTunes on a PC or older Mac.
