We have a new tech that we want to prep handsets through Apple Configurator 2; however, when he goes to sign into the app with his managed Apple ID (the same one that we set up in Apple Business Manager for him), Apple Configurator 2 throws back this error message:
MZCommerce.SignInBlockedforSpecialEduAccount.Configurator_message
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here?
Does the user have the Device Enrollment Manager role in Apple Business Manager?
Could be, but I just created a new identity to test with no issues. The account has signed into ABM before, correct?

New MacBook Pro 14. I'm signed into an admin user, under my personal Apple ID. When I go to sign into my Device Manager account for an organization I manage, I get the same

Is this due to being signed into a personal Apple ID for the user and not a ABM ID?
Absolutely. A personal ID is not tied to Apple Business/School Manager in any way. There just isn't a way to know which account the personal ID would belong to.

Also, for hecks and giggles, I bumped them to an Administrator role with the same results. I wonder if this is tied to the service outages that Apple has been having today. For most of the day by 2fa has either been extremely delayed or has not come. I will have my tech try again in the morning and see what might be going on.
