Hi, I'm having this problem as many others, but the problem doesn't solve relaunching Finder but

com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent

I have this script in Automator as an app in Dock (as it happens too often)

do shell script "killall com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent" user name "MYUSERNAME" password "MAYPASSWORD" with administrator privileges

do shell script "killall Finder"

it worked days ago, I don't know but now the script doesnt force quit com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent, only Finder

It works however if I force quit process in Monitor Activity and relaunch Finder manually

I'm in a brand new Mac Studio all updated, no TimeMachined, so brand new system. So this looks as a macOS bug

in Macrumors forum there is a thread about this as old as Catalina

I'm running Monterey, 12.3.1 and since installing when I put a .mov file or do a screenshot, I get the PNG emblem instead of the thumbnail. MOV files give me a QuickTime image. A .jpeg works like it should. I have tried the Finder relaunch bit, does not work. Neither does the force quit. Two days ago I did both of those and then did a restart and it worked. Today, I'm back to icons not thumbnails.
