Setting up a dedicated iPad for guests?

We have a secondary property and I'd like to set up a dedicated iPad to help guests/renters have access to control thermostats, SONOS sound throughout the home and yard, control the pool and spa, etc.

What is the best way to set this up safely and make it very user friendly? I feel like this would be a lot easier than walking them through downloading apps etc on their own devices.

Delete all the apps on the iPad other than the ones you want them to be able to use. Then, set up Parental Controls so they can't do much harm.

Closest is probably screen time / parental controls / restrictions:

Or somewhat more involved, using profiles and a platform deployment:

You don’t want to use your own Apple ID for this iPad, either. Use one specific to this iPad.
