I went into my backup hard drive to look at an old aperture photo library the other day, now when I open Photos, it opens that old library instead of my current Photos library-how did that happen and how to I go back to my new one? Is there a way to have the old aperture library combined with the newer one in Photos which is what I currently use?
Hold down the option key while starting photos. It will list all the libraries on your system.
Open the one with your images in (probably the one marked as the system library. )
(When it is started, Photos always continues to open the last library opened.)

Just open Photos with the option key held down and select whichever library you want.
