Rapid Identity

I am trying to access my gmail account on my desktop and when I go to the site, an additional window automatically opens up from "RapidIdentity" from my daughters' school. My daughters used my desktop to take exams and now I am unable to log in to my gmail account. It feels like I'm a student or a student using a school device. I get a "wrong password" prompt and when I try to reset the password, I am unable to do so.

I am needing to get rid of "RapidIdentity" on my desktop.

Thanks in advance :)

It seems your daughter used your Mac, which was either already logged in under your name or she logged in under your name using your User Account password. Is that correct?

If so, perhaps she used Safari to log into her Google Account to perform her school work. Logging in to her Google Account caused you to be logged you out of yours. Might that also correct?

If all that is correct, please try the following. From the Safari menu, choose Preferences... then click the Privacy icon, then click the Manage Website Data... button. Type Google in its Search field.

As that screen explains, removing the data shown in it will cause you to be logged out of websites that use that data. That's ok, it just means you will need to log in again using your login credentials. It seems that's what you want to do, so click the Remove All button.

I'm making a lot of assumptions here but try it.

For future reference, if you let someone borrow your Mac it's best to create a separate User Account for them first: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support. Log out of your own Account and let them use theirs.

When that Account is no longer required, you can delete it: Delete a user or group on Mac - Apple Support.
