How to save audio messages from iMessage onto your iPhone

I couldn’t find the answer online but I figured it out.

1. hold the audio message and tap “forward”
2. send it to yourself or the sender if you don’t care that they know you’re saving it.
3. it will send it as an audio file. Tap that file and save it.
4. select where you want to save it (iCloud or files).
5. done.
