2022 MacBook Air Safari issue

I have both a MacBook Air and iMac. Safari won't load pages on either computer, although Google loads just fine. I have checked connections reloaded internet, wifi checks, emptied history, rebooted, etc.I really need to connect to my yahoo email account which is on Safari. Can anyone tell me what is going on? I hope it's not because of the new OS Monterey....

I also don't understand why the new Monterey OS is 32+ GB and it states that my MBAir is compatible when I only have 8 GB Ram. Why would Apple do this when my MBAir is less that 6 months old? Really, does this mean I won't be able to upgrade to the new OS?

Monterey can be installed on any MacBook Air that is a 2015 or later model.

It requires 26GB or more of free storage (storage -- not memory) if upgrading from macOS Sierra or later.

There is no requirement for 32GB of RAM (memory).
