I get a message saying error occurred and I don't have permission to use Mac Pro as AirPlay receiver.

I have set my Mac Pro to be an AirPlay receiver. I try to conntect to it from my iTunes on my PC. I am able to go so far as entering the 4 digit code that the Mac Pro shows. After that it asks me again and the Mac Pro gives a different 4 digit number. Then I get an error message saying there was an error and I don't have permission to access the requested device.

HOw do I fix this. Could a firewall cause this problem? Is this a networking problem?

Windows, Windows 10

I believe currently, you can only stream audio from an iOS/iPadOS device to a Mac running macOS Monterey.

AirPlay, without additional help, can only stream over a single network subnet. If your PC & Mac Pro are on the same subnet, then this is not necessarily a networking issue. Unfortunately, even if you have software firewalls running on both machines, disabling them would not help with this.
