Google Authenticator fails on iPhone 13 Pro and iOS 15.4

I upgraded my iPhone recently and neglected to back up Google Authenticator (GA). Unfortunately several sites I use require GA. I no longer have access to my previous phone so I resigned myself to the tedious process of having 2FA revoked on the sites where I have been using it and proceeding from there to get them reauthorized. I deleted the GA app, which came across with I transferred my old phone to my new one, reinstalled GA from the App Store and set about the process. Unfortunately, GA doesn't appear to be working properly on my iPhone 13 Pro and iOS 15.4. In my experience Google apps tend to be very "minimalist." When I launch the GA app, it shows my account identified by my email address at the top and circle with the Google colors and the "+" sign inside it which I assume is the place you tap to add a new account. I headed off to one of my accounts to reenable 2FA, brought up the QA code to scan and woke my phone. Low and behold the circle with the + was missing from the screen. Humm... I could find no way to add a new account. So my questions are: Is anyone else is having this issue? Is this a problem with my phone? An issue with the app and OS version? Is GA just broken at the moment for the latest releases? If this is fixable, can anyone point me to documentation regarding this on Google's support site?
