Difference between Transparency and Off

Transparency uses the microphones in the AirPods to listen to outside sounds and let them in so you can hear them through the headphones.

Off does nothing, so you would hear the sounds as you would with any headphones without transparency mode. ie muffled and lower volume than with Transparency mode.
