AV1 codec on Apple TV 4K 2021
Good evening,
Will Apple TV media player support new AV1 codec in the future ? I understand that Netflix uses this codec on some movies. So, it means that these movies in the future can’t be viewed on Apple TV ?

We would have no more idea than you as Apple typically does not announce future products or features. We are all end users just like you are, Apple is simply our host for these forums. In addition we cannot speculate in the forums on future products or Apple's decisions.
