HomePod Mini does not work as a HomeKit Home Hub for "Accessory Controlled" automations.

The title pretty much explains the issue. Whenever a HomePod Mini is the connected home hub, automations like 'When the lights turn on, turn off the lamp' wont work at all. I have done a good bit of research and it seems like a lot of people have had this problem. Fortunately for me, I have an Apple TV which doesn't have this issue, so whenever that is the connected hub everything is fine. But sometimes the connected hub will switch to one of my homepods, in which case I have to unplug both homepods so the Apple TV will become the connected hub again. This is annoying for me, but this could ruin other people's smart home. (BTW I have only had this issue with the Homepod Mini since about late January, but it seems like some people have had it longer) WE NEED A SOFTWARE FIX! Thank you.

Hi NFObsessed,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

We'd advise being sure both the Apple TV and HomePod mini are completely updated: Update your Apple TV and Update HomePod. Both software versions are currently 15.4.

If that hasn't resolved the issue, we'd suggest taking a deeper diver with Apple Support at Get Support.

Have a fantastic day!
