Anyone else have Siri stop understand "Hey Siri, play some music" recently?

Always used to say "Hey Siri, play some music" and then we got back, "playing some music just for you". This was on HomePod minis, iPhones and iPads. Today we noticed that Siri no longer understands those commands. We tried restarting devices, turning siri off and on again.

Siri still understands all the other music commands. Apple music works fine. Can't think of what changed in the last few days.

But now the response is odd like:

Hey Siri play some music ›

Maybe you should try some breathing

exercises. I'd do them with you, but I don't

breathe.

Hey Siri play some music >

Try concatenating natural speech. That

usually makes me drift right off.

iPhone 11, iOS 15

Hi jessiered,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities!

If you change the way you word your command, such as "Hey Siri, play music," does Siri play music as expected, or are you still seeing the incorrect result?

Also, is this happening with the latest version of software available for your devices?

To confirm your iPad and iPhones are up to date go to Settings > General > Software Update. If one is available it will appear here.

To update your HomePod go to the Home app on your iPhone or iPad, select Home > Home Settings > Software Update.

Check out the following resources:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Hope that helps!
