Jpeg image doesn't open in Photoshop

I have a Mac Mini late 2012, running Hight Sierra v. 10.13.6 with 16GB of RAM. Sometimes when I receive a JPEG image and try to open it in Photoshop, I receive the following message:

Could not complete your request because a SOFn, DQT, or DHT JPEG marker is missing before JPEG SOS marker.

How can I solve this problem? Any help?

Occasionally GC, GraphicConverter can open graphic files nothing else can...

See if you can open the file in Preview. If not, the jpg is likely corrupt and there's nothing you can do.
