Emergency bypass not working

Emergency bypass does not work for calls.

it does work for texts.

I have added the contact as an emergency contact and restarted the phone.

I have removed and added custom sounds for the contact.

is this feature just completely broken.

I see similar questions from 2019.

has Apple abandoned this feature?

maybe it should be removed if not functional?

Hello barney115,

First, ensure you're using the latest iOS version, which is currently iOS 15.4. If needed, you can update at Settings > General > Software Update. This page can help further: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

It may also help to try removing the 'Emergency Contact' status for the contact via the Contacts app, and then re-enable this.

Another step that can help for odd issues would be a standard restart of the device: Restart your iPhone

Cheers.

Eric,

i've done what you have advised and it still doesn't fix the problem.

i have a DND set daily and keep my phone on silent 100%. I have 7 contacts that i must have the emergency bypass enabled. after i updated to the current IOS, this feature ceased working properly.

now (as of this past weekend), i'm not even getting regular text notifications.

I went to my local apple store and they ran a diagnostic test and found nothing concerning this problem.

frustrated and confused...

please help.
