Worked fine until recently no upgrades done still on Big Sur 11.6 now all I get is an error when trying to export any image from heic to jpg that says basically the "file name" even if you try to change it "The document "Name of file" could not be exported as "Name of file".
Hoping there may be a preference or cache to delete?

Figured out a solution. Created a new folder as a destination of the converted file and it works as expected now. I used to just let them go to the desktop and that was the issue it appears. Works fine now.

I just opened a HEIC image from my iPhone 13 Pro Max in Preview on macOS 11.6.5. It exported to a .jpg without issue.
Do you maybe have iCloud Drive enabled?
Preview stopped working to export HEIC to JPG.
