My 2013 Mac Pro running MacOS 12.3 and Final Cut 10.6.1 sees my two DV decks in the system Firewire section. but they don't show up in Final Cut Pro Import window. I've done the usual, restart, power cycle stuff on both the decks and the Mac Pro. No Joy. Any help would be appreciated.

You will have download an older OS and create a boot installer on a jump drive with that OS. Connect a small SSD to your system and install the older OS onto it. Boot into that OS and see of you can use it to capture with iMovie or the QuickTime player.

I booted up with 12.1 and it worked in QuickTime player. I did not have Final Cut loaded on the 12.1 SSD so I was unable to try test it in Final Cut with 12.1. So it looks to be a 12.3 bug. Thanks for your help. Where do we go from here. How do I report this as a bug to Apple?
Try and see if the QuickTime player works for capture. You might have to use one of your drives to install and older OS.
A few users are finding the issue centres around the OS 12.3.
Can you test with an earlier OS?
Your System is at least seeing the Firewire Tree which is more than others see.

Use Feedback in the Final Cut Pro menu. You could copy FCP onto the 12.1 drive and try it.
No joy when trying QuickTime Player.
I don't have an earlier system to try. As to it showing up on the Firewire tree, that is sporadic. Sometimes they both show up, sometimes it is just one of the two tape machines. Nothing consistent.
I did load up FCP on the 12.1 systems and it worked correctly. I will use the Feedback in FCP. Thanks for all the help[.
