iOS Safari history tab glitch

Recently I got an iPhone 13 Pro Max and started using Safari to catch up on news and what not.

I have come across a weird glitch where as a page loads (with history on that tab say Google, then some generic site and another site page to that), it loads back to the previous page and loses the entire history of that tab. I restarted my phone and well, while it goes away for a while, it comes back and does the same. Can't access the history of that tab, I can close and reopen that tab but it still has no history. Like I opened a new tab in the background.

Anyone have that problem or have a solution? I hate opening a new tab for every link that I come across to preserve the history to read back a previous article...

Hello Jararkmederer,

The first thing that we recommend when experiencing an issue like this is to power cycle the iPhone by pressing and holding the side button until "Power Off" appears. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. While simple, this can refresh the iOS, apps and connections. More information is available here: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

We would also suggest closing Safari by following these steps:1. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close. 3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app. Closing Safari may also help reset the app.

Have a good day.

Jararkmederer,

Thank you for those details.

Next, let's clear your website data.

Clear website data

You can clear website data occasionally to improve Safari performance. If you still need help, follow these steps:Go to Settings > Safari.Tap Clear History and Website data.Tap Clear History and Data to confirm.

More information can be found here: If Safari displays a blank page or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Good Luck!
