My M1 Mac running 12.3 keeps deferring to 'organise by conversation view', which I detest. I can manually change the option, but it puts itself back again a few days later. My Intel Mac running the same version of OS sticks with my preferred setting of not being 'organised by conversation.'
How do I achieve this behaviour on my M1, please?

1 - Suggest restarting in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.
2 - Does the issue present in this mode ?
3 - If not - there could be something in the main User Account playing up. To further isolate this - Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. Then log out of the Main User account and log into the dummy account and test again if the issue persists.
4 - If the issue is present in the dummy account - then, this appears to be a System Wide issue on the computer.
5 - If the issue persists - pleased advise

The issue usually presents itself after several days. I haven't managed to attribute any particular event that seems to initiate the issue, but that can be difficult when the cycle is days or even longer.
No, no mail extensions, although I do have an app called "Grammarly" installed which works on various applications, which I guess feels a bit like an extension.
