Big Fish Games Issue

I have been a subscriber to Big Fish Games for several years and have downloaded and played many games. Recently, because games stopped playing, I was advised to uninstall and reinstall the Big Fish Game Manager which you need to run any of their games.

Now, the Game Manager won't install. When I try to open the downloaded program, I get this message:

An error has occurred. Please try again.

If the problem persists, you may need to go to http://www.bigfishgames.com/help for information on how to reinstall.

Long story short, I've done what they've said to do. I have also contacted Big Fish Games and they just continue to advise me to do the above. I have a new MacBook Pro (running M1) and an iMac. Both are running on Monterey. It's not the M1 processor, because the iMac doesn't have that.

Would appreciate any information anyone can provide. This is very frustrating and it doesn't sound like I'm the only one with this problem.

Thanks.

Thank you so much for that suggestion. I have gotten that same procedure from Big Fish Games and have deleted the app on more than one occasion. Sadly, nothing has changed. Big Fish Games support seems not to know what's wrong. Reading through the forum here, it's at least comforting to know that I'm not the only person who is having this problem. I came here because I wondered if there was some setting on my MacBook Pro and iMac that might be causing this problem.

It remains a frustrating mystery.

Hey there PuppyDogMom,

We'd suggest trying the following steps to make sure the app is completely uninstalled:

"Use the Finder to delete an app

  1. Locate the app in the Finder. Most apps are in your Applications folder, which you can open by clicking Applications in the sidebar of any Finder window. Or use Spotlight to find the app, then press and hold the Command (⌘) key while double-clicking the app in Spotlight.
  2. Drag the app to the Trash, or select the app and choose File > Move to Trash.

macOS Dock with Trash shown

3.If you're asked for a user name and password, enter the name and password of an administrator account on your Mac. This is probably the name and password you use to log in to your Mac.

4.To delete the app, choose Finder > Empty Trash."

We're using How to uninstall apps on your Mac. You'll also find another way under "Use Launchpad to delete an app". After completely uninstalling the app, you'd want to Reinstall the Big Fish Games App (Game Manager). To try once again use the link under "Mac users".

If it's still not working, continue to reach out to Big Fish Games to see if they have other suggestions so you can get back to your game.

Kind regards.
