Kids iPad suddenly won’t allow camera for kids messenger

My child’s iPad suddenly won’t allow camera access, it doesn’t even show up when trying to allow access, I never had screen time set up or any restrictions except purchases password protected. I set up screen time just now to see if I could force allow it but it isn’t working, everything is set to allow, kids messenger doesn’t show up in the list of apps, but either way, there’s no restrictions on screen time. She’s been using kids messenger for 2 years, why today, out of nowhere, can she not use it anymore?

also you guys don’t have 8th gen iPad listed? It’s not my iPad Pro but my daughters 8th gen iPad 10.2 inch

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

Hi efirestone16,

Are you able to access the camera in any other app at this time? Have you tested with all Screen Time restrictions disabled, per Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch? If the camera cannot be accessed by any app, then it may be necessary to have the device hardware checked. If the behavior only occurs in this app, you can verify the app has access to the camera by going to Settings > [App Name] and checking the camera option or Control access to information in apps on iPhone. You may need to visit How to contact an app developer to contact the developer of this application if that doesn't help and only occurring in this software.
