My device has been displaying a temperature warning for the past 18 hours, causing it to remain unresponsive and refusing to turn on. To add to the complexity, I recently discovered that the back of my iPhone is cracked. See this, If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold - Apple Support and what are you seeing now that the screen is locked? The iPhone will need to cool before you can access the screen.
