A 10Gbe PCIe NIC that Monterey supports

I run a stock 2013 MacPro (trashcan) with an external Akitio TB2 PCIe enclosure, and an Aquantia AQC107 10Gbe NIC inside. Everything was running fine on Catalina. A while ago I tried upgrading to Big Sur, and it rendered the NIC useless, so I had to roll back. Then yesterday I upgraded to Monterey 12.3, thinking it's been long enough that the issue should've been fixed, but nope, my NIC is useless again. Apparently this has been an issue with MacOS and Aquentia AQC107-based NICs.

Are there any 10Gbe PCIe NICs that are proven to work with Monterey?

Sorry it took me a while to follow this up -- the Sonnet Solo10G PCIe (AQC-107S chipset) does indeed work perfectly on the latest MacOS Monterey. As soon as I plugged it into my external PCIe box, booted up the computer and MacOS recognized it right away.

I bought a Sonnet Solo10G PCIe card, based on the Aquantia AQC-107S chipset. According to Sonnet's tech support, the "S" in AQC107S stands for "security" -- it's a special version of the chip required by Apple, and most other vendors don't use the S version.

I haven't had time to install the card yet though since I received it. I'll see if I can around to it over the next day or two and give you an update.

Have you reached out to the Aquantia vendor and determined if they have a firmware update that they believe will resolve Monterey compatibility issues. Did you need to install any Aquantia device drivers to get it working in the Mac Pro with Catalina?

No I haven't reached out to Aquantia personally; from my research trying to resolve this issue, quite a few people (who are having the same issue with AQC107-based NICs) on other forums have pointed out that it's an Apple / MacOS issue. According to them, they've reached out to the vendor and the vendor basically confirmed as such.

And no, when I was on Catalina, additional drivers weren't needed. It worked right out of the box.

Thansk for the information - i did see information that a standard AQC-107 wont work and on Sonnet website i also saw that in the compatibility chart. I was hoping i could use. my old card and repurpose it, looks like i am out of luck for the Mac. I do still have my PC I can use the card for.. Good luck - i hope the the new card works for your set up!

have you managed to find a solution? i was just about to puchase a pcie box to use it for my 10gbe NIC, and was just checking it would work on my M1 Mac.... thanks if you have any updates to share.
