Notification Sound Glitch

Hello everyone. I would like to ask for a help. Have you ever experienced this? I’ve got MacBook Pro M1 and sometimes when it’s hibernating and notification appears it wants to notify me about that by a sound - which is expected behaviour. However the sound “glitches” and it’s playing the first milliseconds of it in infinite loop. That makes annoying never ending clicking or knocking like sound. However when I move a mouse around, or press the power button the notification sound will finish and all new notifications will pop up.

I have tried to reinstall MacOS but it didn’t help. What does actually help is to restart it. It will take maybe few days or couple of hours when this occurs again.

The sound is really unsettling, and I worry it might be a symptome of some bigger issue.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.3

Hello Puoskari,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You've done a great job trying to resolve this issue. We recommend testing the issue while in safe mode. Starting in safe mode allows your Mac to run certain checks, remove caches, and prevent login items from automatically launching. This can isolate possible third party issues. Use the steps and information in the following resource for assistance with safe mode:
