  • Press and quickly release VOLUME UP
  • Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN
  • Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (15-30 seconds), ignoring "slide to power off" if it appears

The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky.

If you follow the instructions precisely, especially the “quickly”, it is guaranteed to work, as it invokes a hardware reset.

If you clicked on Get Support and requested a callback Apple normally calls within a couple of minutes. So check to see if you are inadvertently blocking the calls. Check your voicemail for messages, go to Settings/Phone and turn off Silence Unknown Callers, and go to Settings Focus and make sure that all of the options are off.

Hello~ Try it this way from an excellent prior post by *Axel Foley *

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

If you are getting Siri then you are not using the correct sequence pressing the Volume buttons. Look at the left edge of the phone. There are 3 objects. The top one is the Mute switch. The one in the middle is the Volume Up button. The bottom one is the Volume Down button. Ignore the Mute switch. Press and release the middle button. Then press and release the bottom button (these are 2 separate steps, one after the other, not both at the same time). Then hold the Side button for 30 seconds or until an Apple logo appears.
