MacBook Pro with low resolution display options for external monitor

My Mac doesn't offer any higher resolution than 1600 x 900 for my LG Full HD 21.5" monitor. Consequently my display is very blurry. Why?

I have a MacBook Pro running MacOS Monterey 12.3 w/ the Intel UHD Graphics 630 integrated graphics card connect via USB-C cable.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.2

Macbook Air not detecting LG ultra wide monitor resolution I have an LG ultra wide monitor (29WK50S) and my Mac will only run at 1920x1080 on the monitor even though the native resolution of the monitor is 2560 by 1080. This results in a stretched out image. When I go to display settings, there is not an option to choose 2560x1080 for the monitor, even when I hold the option key to view more resolutions. I have a mid 2013 MacBook Air and I am using a Belkin mini-display port to HDMI adapter. What is the problem?

Macbook 13' display on Samsung external monitor Hi, How are you holding up? I have purchased an external monitor (Samsung 32' 1920x1080p display) and when plugging my macbook pro 13' in, the external monitor display is all blurry. I tried to play around with the resolution setup but still blurry. Is that too low of a resolution from the external monitor to have a good display? Thanks

Hey Chuck-Koverse,

If you aren't seeing the display resolution you expect, try the following:

In System Preferences > Displays, make sure you are holding the Option key when you click Scaled to see additional resolutions.
Make sure the firmware on your display is up to date
Restore your display to defaults in the internal menu system.
