Alexa on Apple Watch

Why can we not get Alexa on the Apple Watch? I understand Apple rarely plays nice with other companies, but wouldn’t it make sense to allow this? I already have the watch, I don’t have Siri powering my smart home… so having Alexa on my watch would make talking to this smart assistant easy when there’s no echo around and would just make the watch more valuable.

Maybe ask Amazon as it is their service. A lot of companies do not provide services for the Apple Watch.

Having said that, I strongly suspect that only Siri is going to be listening when you raise your arm and speak. To have Alexa activate (if Amazon provides it), chances are you would have to say "Hey Siri, tell Alexa to mumble mumble mumble..."

Letting Amazon have unlimited full time access to your microphone might not be a good idea.

Because Siri uses Apple HomeKit to communicate with HomeKit compatible smart devices. If you have an Apple TV, iPad or HomePod, those can be used as Hubs to run HomeKit. Then you could use Siri.
