Is a Thunderbolt 4 cable to connect SSD to my Mac faster than USB 3.2?

Hi,

I have an SSD drive that is capable of speeds up to 2000MB/s

I know the Mac I am using only supports USB 3.2 up to 10Gbps which when I ran the disk speed test on the drive worked out to be approximately 800MB/s

My question is that if I use a Thunderbolt 4 cable to connect the SSD to my computer instead of the USB-C 3.2 cable that it came with, will I be able to harness the ultra fast 2000MB/s speeds.

Regards,

Luke
