2012 USB apple keyboard compatability
does a 2012 (vintage?) apple USB keyboard (with numeric keypad) have have it's own internal [stuff] that needs updating. I use with 2021 MacBook Air.
....seems to work fine -- just wondering.

No, the keyboard has nothing that needs updating. It's just a keyboard.
