Autofill in Safari

Where do I input user name and password for websites in Safari in order to use Autofill? Also where do I find a Safari "home page" where I could set preferences, etc?

IPad, iOS 4

The settings for Safari are in Settings, Safari. You need to turn on Autofill. Once you do, on most websites (but not on ones with significant security installed, like banks) when you enter in the user name and password, Safari asks if you want to save it.

There's no "home page" for Mobile Safari. It doesn't work that way. But since you can have multiple "pages" open on Safari, just make one your home page. It'll always be there.

It doesn't seem to matter what kind of website I try (bank or non- bank) I never get the request from Safari asking to save. Expedia and trip advisor are two I tried thinking they weren't extra-secure and would work, but no luck. On my iPod 3GS, I was, some time ago, able to use my stock broker's website for user name and password with no problem using Autofillnto save.
