Upgrade to Mac OS Monterey

I have a MacBook Pro from early 2015, 13 inch, so my computer i compatible for downloading Mac OS Monterey. I went into app store to download it and it was just loading for hours, so I restarted my computer and now it says I have the latest update even though I still have El Capitan. How can I download Monterey?

MacBook Pro 13″, OS X 10.11

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on Monterey; it's a full-version upgrade and won't appear in the Updates list. If you get a Mac App Store preview page, change the https at the beginning of its address to macappstore.

Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To look up other programs, click here.
