If this is about Wallet / Apple Pay (not sure if it is):

If the ONLY thing that changed is the expiration date, you don't need to (and in-fact can't) update it in Wallet.

A general rule to remember is "If the info actually displayed in wallet is unchanged ... don't try to change anything else"
