Export 1080p file from IMovie

1080p is grayed out as a choice when I want to export original 1080p clips from IMovie ver. 10.3.1. Using MacPower Book 2016. Seen/read about loading another 1080p file next to clip and deleting preferences, neither work for me. This problem has been around for years, seems strange this has not been fixed by ver. 10.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.2

The resolution of a project is set as that of the very first clip added to a newly created project. So create a new project and add a 1080 clip as the first one added. That will set the project at 1080 and give you a 1080 export option. You can confirm the resolution of the project in the box that appears when you click on the Settings button above and to the right of the timeline. Even if you later delete the first 1080 clip and add new clips with a different resolution the project resolution will remain at 1080.
