forgot ipod password

is there any way to restore an ipod to recover the password without erasing everything?

No. Unless you have a backup. To find and use the backup, see:

Thanks. I found that guide but it all leads to a restore. My daughter doesn’t want to lose her pics and isn’t sure if she backed everything up on the cloud.
