iMac 2014 fusion drive 5k Monitor froze after last Big Sur update and when I tried to boot into recovery mode I got strange graphics of a wireless mouse and external disk drive with arrows near the power button sliders. Anyone see this? I tried rebooting after turning off wireless mouse and keyboard, now it’s just frozen on bootup

I believe what you were seeing was macOS Recovery Mode prompting you to turn on your wireless Magic accessories. Have you read: If your Mac doesn't start up all the way - Apple Support?
