Editing Top Sites / Frequently Visited on the Safari 15 start page

Is there still a way to add sites to the "Frequently Visited" (aka "Top Sites") section of Safari 15's Start Page?

I can delete them, rearrange them, or view as icons instead of thumbnails. But how in the world do I add new ones?

I've been stymied for a while. Currently running Safari Version 15.3 (17612.4.9.1.8) on macOS 12.2.1 (21D62).

Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out, strayer27.

It sounds like you're looking for information about how the Frequently Visited sites are added. We can help.

These sites are able to be added by frequently visiting the site. For example, if you open the same webpage each time you open Safari, it will eventually be added to this list. On the other hand, if you leave the same site pulled up and never close Safari except when you need to, it may take longer to be added to the Frequently Visited section.

Hope that helps!

Hi strayer27,

Customize the start page in Safari on Mac covers the configurable options you can use regarding the start page for your Safari browser. You may also wish to Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac using these steps to refresh your Safari data:

  1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, choose History > Clear History, then click the pop-up menu.
  2. Choose how far back you want your browsing history cleared.

Regards.
