For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling right click on the downloaded setup file and use run as administrator. It may also help to temporarily disable any non-Microsoft anti-virus.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment. Links to the most recent builds are now at the bottom of the page.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

iTunes

Using Win 10 Home Edition 64 Bit    I am the only user. I do have 4 various configured hard drives Main C: Seagate:, D:

Western Digital, F: Seagate and G: Crucial

iTunes was once installed on this computer and then uninstalled years ago.  Have the need to install and use iTunes again.  Downloaded iTunes 64 set up (6) exe from Apple store.  Executed set up and get msg “iTunes installer completed – Errors occurred during installation before iTunes could be configured.  To complete installation run the installer again. Click finish to exit the

installer”.

Ran installation again and got msg “one or more users on this computer have installed iTunes from the Microsoft store.  All users must uninstall iTunes before this installation can continue”.

After this reinstall try an iTunes logo msg appears on my desk top: “The file ‘iTunes library.itl’ cannot

be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes”.

Control Panel Programs and Features and Revo Uninstaller Pro do not show iTunes but both show Bonjour

installed in my Computer.   Both show Apple Device Support, Apple Application Support and Apple Mobile Device Support

installed.
