spotlight window disappears

After entering a single letter the spotlight search field disappears. I have the same issue with the finder search field.

Maybe someone has a solution.


Latest Monterey 12.3.1 version on a 2017 21'' iMac.

On the Intel Mac—


Try resetting the SMC How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support


Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)


if no resolve try a Safeboot: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Same issue? The OP made no mention of the image missing in the login window.


You should starta new thread and provide an Etrecheck report so we can look for possible causes. No two macs are alike, since they may have totally different software installed. The Etrecheck report is the best way any of us, who don’t have access to your mac, can have an idea of what might be wrong.
