2nd MacBook same Apple ID??

I have just gotten a (refurbished) MacBook- I already have a MacBook Air but as I’m going to be working on a project and found a deal I picked up this one.

As I will be the only person using the 2nd MacBook AND as I will need to download a few apps from the AppStore I really wanted to use my current Apple ID.

I haven’t tried it yet so I don’t know if it will work or not. I have searched and seen different answers. Hopefully I will get consistent answers on here telling me yea or nay and if nay what my options are.
