Microsoft no longer updates Office 2008. You can download new Office software at Microsoft.com or use the apps built into your Mac.

The following (for Office 2011) is probably close to what is needed to remove Office 2008, though you’ll best confirm proper deletion with the app vendor involved; with Microsoft Support:

To answer your question, you may find an uninstaller app located in your Microsoft Office folder , located in the Applications folder. If not, check with the Microsoft support site and you should be able to download one from there. The uninstaller app will remove all of the various bits and pieces of each app for you.

Microsoft no longer offers or supports these older versions of Office and they don't work with the newer operating systems because the new operating systems only work with 64 bit apps and this is n old 32 bit app.
