I have a game that has some screen weirdness on ipad mini 6 probably due to the newer screen dimension and aspect ratio.
Does the mini 6 have a way to fake older screen resolution to allow older apps to run properly?

You cannot change the screen resolution for the iPad. Also, a game should be able to automatically adjust to the resolution of the game. If you cannot find anything in the game settings, reach out to the game developer to see what they have to say about support for the smaller sized iPads.
