Aperture retrieval

how do I retrieve my aperture library, I got a new computer, the is macOS Monterey 12.1

iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.11

Did you transfer the Aperture Library from your old computer to your new computer? Where did you keep the Aperture Library on your old computer? In the Pictures folder or on an external volume?


Aperture does not run on macOS Monterey 12.1, but you can open the Aperture Library in Photos for Mac. This will allow you to access your photos and albums.


  • Launch Photos while holding down the options key ⌥, then select your Aperture Library in the dialog that will open. Then wait, until Photos has created a new Photos Library from your Aperture Library. It may take a while, if the library is large.
