I have a otterbox defenders case that allows wireless charging. The magsafe battery pack does not charge through the case while other wireless chargers do. Is my magsafe battery pack defective or is it the thickness of the case? How can I test this?

You need a MagSafe compatible case.
But the magsafe battery pack and other magsafe products work with non magsafe products. They can charge android phones with wireless charging. When does a case become too thick, that a magsafe wireless charger doesn't work?
