Electric feeling

Hi,

Touching my new MacBook Pro 14' while it is connected to the power gives small electric shocks.

Is that a common problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.3

You can use a device like this to perform a quick check of the wiring of the electrical outlet (this only detects some possible wiring issues). If it shows anything, but "OK" or "Correct", then you will need to have an electrician fix the home wiring.

If you are using a power/surge strip or UPS, then try connecting the laptop directly to the wall outlet. Make sure to disconnect all external devices in case one of them is causing a problem. Also make sure all external devices connected to the laptop are also plugged into the same electrical circuit which is best done by using a power/surge strip.

FYI, here is the grounded AC Power Extension Cord from the Apple Store for the US region. Change the region to your location where you can find the appropriate AC cord for your region.
