After looking at hundreds of posts, I got fed up and decided to ask these questions. What file formats does itunes play and how can you change/adjust them? I thought there was a place to do this when I installed itunes, but I haven't been able to find it so far.
Thanks

iTunes prefs -> General. Click the *Import settings* button to change how songs are imported from Audio CD.
Anything added to iTunes in the above formats will be added in that format. They will not be converted

Thanks for the help, but my question is still unanswered, I want to know how to associate different file types with iTunes, maybe I am not asking the question correctly, or don't know the terminology. I know that my real player can be made to associate different file types from the tools menu, I check off the boxes with the different extensions, like, .mp3, wav, midi, .ogg, etc... I thought there was a feature like this on iTunes, but I can't find it, is it only available when I install it?
