old emails disappeared

I lost all my old emails in my inbox both on my iPhone and MAC. Turned both off and on but they did not show back up.

iPhone 7, iOS 15

Hello Audra386,

When emails appear to be missing on your Mac, you'll want to check the items below:

• If you use more than one email account in Mail, make sure you’re looking at messages for the correct account.

• If you sorted messages, they may be in the list but not in the order you expect.

• If the missing emails are from a specific person or group, check whether you blocked messages from them.

• If you use rules, they may have moved messages to other mailboxes. Try searching for the messages.

• Check the account’s Recovered Messages mailbox, if available in the Mail sidebar.

• Quit Mail, then reopen it.

You can also find those steps in this article, along with a link to rebuild the mailbox, if needed: If emails appear to be missing in Mail on Mac

Should those emails still not show up, is this happening with multiple email accounts?

Are you able to see those messages if you sign into the webmail site for your email provider? If you are using iCloud Mail, you can check that using the following link: iCloud Mail

Hopefully those details will help to isolate this further, so we can take additional steps from there.

Take care.
