Dragonfly cobalt issues with Mac Studio

So, I have an Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt that is not liking my Mac Studio or...Vice Versa. Worked fine with my old MBP and my Intel Mac Mini and my iOS devices. but, when I plug it into my Mac Studio via USB A or USB C (via the dragon tail) I get a rapid clicking sound. Now I have TWO questions...

ONE: Do I even NEED the Cobalt with the Mac Studio because apparently the headphone out on the back supports hi-res audio and low-impedance headphones.

TWO: What the heck could be wrong and why is it clicking? Audioquest has not been able to offer any help that actually works. Is anyone using one of these with an M1 Mac that is having/had similar issues?

I do have the same problem on my Mac Studio Base Model (M1 Max) when I use the USB-C ports on front.

If I use the Thunderbolt ports on the back everything is OK.

I finally found out the same. I had just tried to USB-C on the front and the USB-A on the back. It wasn’t until I tried the TB on the back that it actually worked.

My seems to connect intermitantly. Using the ports on the back will work, but sometimes I have to unplug and the Replug to get my MS to see the Dragonfly. Plus...they (Audioquest) are not very helpful. "Uh, I asked the guy sitting next to me and it works for him so....SHRUG"

I have the same problem. Started with the TB port using the tail, then tried other ports. Sounds does not see the Dragonfly. I have two Dragonflies, and neither works.
