No notification sound
Why don’t I get notification sound when I get a new message?

There are a few things you'll want to check when you stop receiving notification sounds. First, check your notification settings to ensure notifications are allowed and Banner is enabled. Settings > Notifications > Messages will be where to check. You'll also want to make sure "Deliver Quietly" isn't enabled.
Next, check to see if your iPhone is muted: How to put your iPhone on vibrate, ring, or silent mode - Apple Support
Lastly, restart your iPhone and install any available software update which will help if this is software related. You can update in Settings > General > Software Update.
